Do my original MCA advances actually close after consolidation, or can they come back later?

One thing I am worried about is dormant MCA positions. If a consolidation company says they handled a funder, I want to know whether that means the advance is fully satisfied or just paused. I do not want to make payments for months and then find out an old funder still claims I owe them. What paperwork proves the original MCA is really closed?

You want written closure, not verbal reassurance. For each original position, ask for a payoff letter or settlement agreement, confirmation of payment, release language, and UCC termination or amendment if a filing exists. If there was a personal guarantee or confession of judgment, ask whether that exposure is released too. A position that is merely paused, deferred, or being serviced by someone else is not the same as a satisfied obligation. Do not assume the old advance is gone unless the documents say it is gone.
